What sorts of films do you show?
Weekly films range from independent films, romances, and children's favorites. We try to make our movie choices family friendly, and entertainning. These films are usually called "second run" films because they have already been featured in other cinemas, but have not yet made it to DVD or VHS. We normally show films 2-3 months after they have been in the mainstream theaters.
When do your movies play?
The Redhound Theater is open most weekends. Showtimes are traditionally Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00 and 4:30 pm. The latest information about the Theater can be found on this website or by calling 606-526-6981.
What does it cost to attend a showing at the Redhound Theater?
Admission: FREE
The Redhound Theater also offers concessions:
Large Popcorn: $2.00
Regular Popcorn: $1.00
Pepsi Products: $1.00
How long has the Redhound Theater been open?
Since November 2004.
What films have you featured in the past?
In the last several months we have featured: Alvin and The Chipmunks, Speed Racer, Enchanted, and College Road Trip.
Why did you decide to open the Redhound Theater?
The Redhound Theater is a result of several grants that have been awarded to the Corbin Independent school system, as well as a beautification project for the Corbin High School auditorium. The CHS auditorium has been renamed the "Betty Hamiliton Center for the Performing Arts" in honor of a member of our community who has worked hard to bring the Arts to the Corbin area. All the profits that the Theater generate go directly back into the Performing Arts Center.
Through this beautification project, our goal is to serve the Corbin area by providing a better arena for the Arts, but also to allow families, children, and students an alternative activity on the weekends in a safe enviroment that is drug, alcohol, and tobacco free.
How Can I Help?
All profits of the Redhound Theater go directly in to the "Chairs for the Performing Arts" fund. In order to help, attend the Redhound Theater regularly, and let us know how good of a job we are doing!
If you, or your buisness would like to sponsor a chair, make a donation to the Theater. Each chair is $160.00. With each chair that you sponsor, you can make it in honor or memory of a loved one. Your name will be broadcast on RBS Channel 18, in Corbin, Kentucky, as well as put on a slide show before each showing of Redhound Theater films.
